Brahmi (Bacopa Monnieri)

Brahmi is a perennial, creeping herb native to the wetlands of southern and Eastern India, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America.

It has a bitter and sweet taste and is known to impart a cooling energy. Brahmi is a therapeutic herb commonly used as a memory enhancer, aphrodisiac and a health tonic. It enhances the three aspects of memory which include long term memory, short term memory and the retaining capacity. Brahmi has soft, hairy stems and bright green, oval, succulent leaves. Its flowers are small and white with yellow centers. Brahmi is used for nevrous system disorders, neuralgia, epilepsy, anxiety, mental exhaustion and mental illness.Brahmi improves mental function, memory and concentration and reduces learning time. Regular consumption of Brahmi helps in strengthening your immune system. Brahmi reduces stress and anxiety as it decreases the levels of cortisol, which is known as the stress hormone.

How to Use

To make a tea, steep 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb in a cup of boiled water for a few minutes or to taste. Strain and enjoy with a bit of honey, if you wish.
