A member of the mint family, savory is a small, green plant that is used to add flavor to food. This aromatic herb has two main varietals used in cooking: winter savory and summer savory. Both are native to the sunny slopes of the Mediterranean region.The pleasing aromas of savory have made it a culinary staple throughout Europe and an ingredient of essential oils.

Direction to Use
As an herbal tea: Add 2 or 3 teaspoons of the dried herb in a cup of boiling water. Common therapeutic dosage is one cup daily. It is also widely used as a seasoning for grilled meats and barbecues, as well as in stews and sauces.
